You must have noticed the term MSM if you are interested in joint nutrition. It stands for methylsulfonylmethane, an organic sulfur compound that is one of the most important nutrients for our bodies and is responsible for several different bodily functions. MSM is naturally found in collagen fibers, nerve tissue and cartilage, and can also be found in nature in rainwater.
MSM is commonly recommended for inflammatory joint diseases such as osteoporosis or rheumatoid arthritis, but also for allergies. It acts synergistically with the substances chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine sulphate, as well as with vitamin C. MSM, on the other hand, should not be used together with NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen.
